The CILS B1 Citizenship (Cittadinanza) exam, administered by the University of Siena, is one of the three official exams recognized by the Italian government for citizenship. Known for being the shortest, most frequently offered, and the fastest to complete, it is also considered the most accessible of the exams. Our program is designed to take you from beginner to citizenship, with all lessons taught in English. You don’t need to know Italian to begin! However, if you’d like additional language support while you progress through the program, we recommend the Pimsleur app. You can access a free trial using this link and use it alongside your exam preparation to strengthen your language skills.

Once enrolled, you’ll have access to the courses for one full year. Need more time? Just enroll again for another year of access.

The timeline depends on how much time you can dedicate to studying. Some students complete all seven courses in as little as two months, while others take advantage of the ability to learn at their own pace and take much longer.

Our courses are self-paced, taught in English, and delivered entirely online through Google Classroom. This allows you to study anytime, anywhere, at a pace that works for you.

No, everything you need to prepare for the exam is included in the program—no additional materials or books are required. While there are CILS B1 preparation books available, they are all in Italian, which isn’t always helpful for beginners. Our program is designed to guide you through the exam in English, making your preparation easier and more effective.
